Las Vegas is Crooked

Aside from the obvious meaning of that, did you know that Las Vegas is actually built on a slope. I just finished a week in sin city, and rather than sit in a casino, I brought my bike for a few rides out to Red Rock Canyon. From the Mandalay Bay hotel to the western edge of the city, the elevation climbs 1,000 feet! And to the top of Red Rock is nearly 3,000 feet in 25 miles, with 1,000 feet at the very end. Combine a strong headwind and its a long grind to the top. But the screaming fast descent back to town makes it all worth while!
