Running Banter

98% of the fun in Triathlon is the training. The other 2% is the measure of how much fun we had.

-12 Yesterday. 85 Today!

No hockey on this swim course.

I'm in Puerto Rico for a business meeting tomorrow. I did a 14 mile run this morning followed by a 2 lap swim in the lagoon. You know what? Swimming is very pleasant when: a) it isn't in a pool, and b) it isn't cold. Seeing really cool fish doesn't hurt either.

Back to the cold reality tomorrow night.

See you out there (I'll be the tan one).

Hockey on a Triathlon Course?

So, what do they do with the Lifetime Fitness Triathlon swim course when it turns to hard water (ice)? You make about 20 hockey rinks and host the U.S. Pond Hockey Championships.

For the past few weeks Sheila and I have been seeing trucks and plows out on Lake Nokomis while we were out for our runs. They have been clearing the rinks and setting up the boards. And then last weekend they setup a huge tent.

Last night as we drove around the lake, the 160 teams started arriving, and today they got underway. It's supposed to be -12 tomorrow morning and -13 Sunday morning.

I think I'll stick to Tri's.

See you out there.
